Reverse Offering Stories

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”
- Malachi 3:10

Here are just some of the many inspiring and impactful stories.
Thank you for showing God's love and for spreading hope.
"We received $40 in our envelope on Sunday. God has been calling me to sponsor a Compassion International kid for a few months now. I decided that this was the perfect opportunity to do so. I prayed when I went on the website for God to lead me to the right child and I am sponsoring a 2 year little girl from Bangladesh. Thank you for this unique opportunity and the push I needed to follow what God has had on my heart. I love this church!!"
"We received $50 which we gifted to a neighbor girl who has no father in the home, lives with her grandma and has 2 younger brothers she cares for. We gave her brothers a motorized riding style race car plus face $50 to a Bible college student we know."
"We doubled the money and gave it to the Theater and Aberdeen Humane Society."
"We matched the gift ten times and sent it to Pathway to Victory’s Light The Darkness matching challenge. Our gift has now been doubled. In turn, we will receive ten 2025 Daily Devotionals we will be giving to several shut-ins we visit and The Journey Home."
As a family we prayed about the best way to give the gift provided to us to spread a little more cheer this holiday season. After much consideration, we doubled the amount provided to us. We decided to provide this money to the Safe Harbor Organization. With this donation we were able assist in helping a family of 5 check off all the items on their Christmas gift list, as well as provide them with some additional funds in order to buy some groceries. So from our family, thank you very much for allowing us to join you in being the hands and feet of our Lord in Savior, Jesus Christ. God Bless.
"We increased our $40 reverse offering to $100 and gave it to a co-worker who was struggling to buy groceries and diapers and formula for her family of five (including a 3 year old and a 1 year old).  God always has a plan.  We received the money in church on Sunday, and on Monday morning she came to my office to ask for an advance on her paycheck to help keep their electricity on.  It took me a few minutes before it dawned on me that God gave us the money specifically for her.  Thank you, Aldersgate.  The $100 won't make or break her, but at least she knows that people care."
"A former student of mine attempted to take his life several weeks ago. I had spoken with the mom just a few days before this message at church. Our family matched this $20 for a small gift for this student as well as a gift card for food and meals while part of his family stays with him on his healing journey."
"I bought 19 pairs of mens gloves to give out to Homeless men.  Every Wednesday The Aberdeen Homeless outreach group go out and find homeless individuals in our communities and give them hygiene,  coats, food, winter gear items."
"The reverse offering encouraged us to increase our giving this season. We chose to pay for school lunches for whoever needed it. We also donated to a friend who just received a cancer diagnosis."

"I bought Bibles through Voice of the Martyrs.  Multiply the money by giving people God's Word!"
"I bought 19 pairs of mens gloves to give out to Homeless men.  Every Wednesday The Aberdeen Homeless outreach group go out and find homeless individuals in our communities and give them hygiene,  coats, food, winter gear items."

"We gave the $100 plus our $200 to a benefit for an area lady who has been fighting brain cancer for the last year"
"We went out and bought food pantry items for those in need."
"We came home from church wondering how we could use the gift you gave us to enlarge and make a difference in somebody's life.
We had received a plea from the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America whom we have supported in the past. We BOTH have Jewish blood in our family, on the German side from centuries ago. We were preparing to support them at Christmas because they have been right in Israel this year ministering to the refugee Israeli's living in tents by the  hundred thousands. We had our check already written but envelope not sealed. When we received the 'church gift' with the challenge to add to it, we decided to send that with our gift when we received another "Joseph Project' asking with a pledge of $13 for every $1 that is sent in. That sounded really great, and we decided to send an additional gift with yours to the 'Joseph Project' to feed those refugees in Israel.  We tripled the amount we were going to send with your gift! Thank you. Just this past Tuesday we received from our bank a finding that we had been 'under paid' in our account, and it came to OVER the amount (with the church's gift) by nearly ten times the amount we sent to 'Joseph Project', If we ever doubted that promise in the Bible  (and we haven't for decades) we don't now. We plan on increasing our giving in the Joy of the LORD as much as He may request. The LORD is faithful to His people, and we are truly BLESSED to be able to give GENEROUSLY, faithfully, as the LORD provides for us generously as well. Just wanted you to know our experience this week. Many thanks for the series and know that many families will be soon fed by the gift (with the 13$ more each dollar WE sent goes to feeding those poor refugees of over a year in Israel."
