RESTORING Our Legacy

BUILDING upon Our History

INVESTING into the Future

Over 115 years ago, a group of people invested into the downtown community of Aberdeen in order to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. They invested into the future generations. Now it is our time to keep that Legacy going. We get the privilege of investing into the next 100 years. In order to  maintain this beautiful church, so the next several generations can come to know Jesus and make Jesus known.

We need to be a church who reaches out to the unchurched. We need to start seeing our facility through the eyes of someone who is here for the first time. Which means our building needs to be welcoming and easy to navigate.
Several years ago, as Trustees were evaluating our facility, they discovered multiple projects and repairs that needed to be done. They thought it would be wise for us to look at the entirely of our building and spaces as a whole, instead of trying to piece projects together at different times. This spurred us to start conversations with Station 19, an architectural firm who specializes in church remodels. A visioning team was also formed. They identified three main areas of focus that they felt Aldersgate could improve upon:
    • Unification
    • Hospitality
    • Children/Youth Ministry. After many meetings, discussion and prayer, a single preferred direction was unanimously agreed upon by Administrative Board and Trustees, which was then approved by the church body on Dec. 8, 2024.
